Last night’s episode was cute! Felt kind of like a filler episode but i’ll take it over crazy shit happening. Let’s dive in.
Carrie

Carrie meets with her editor, who tells her she can speak at a panel in Virginia. This leads Carrie to plan a trip to Virginia just to have lunch with Aidan and then come back. She wants to seem “easy breezy” and not impose or imply that she wants to stay.
Then she receives a call from Aidan’s ex-wife1, who asks her if she can bring Wyatt some Adderall because there is a nationwide shortage. As someone who has been affected by this, it was wild to see this play out on screen. It’s been so long since I’ve had Adderall (3 years), I’ve stopped trying to take it altogether. I don’t have time to call a million pharmacies to get a prescription. I’d rather be crazy.
Nonetheless, Charlotte gets it handled in 2 minutes by asking some of her mom friends. That’s why I love Charlotte; she handles business.
Carrie then goes to Virginia with Seema (more on her later). We never see the actual event that Carrie was there for. Carrie also finds out her ID has been expired since 2017. She'd better get that real ID before she’s in real trouble!
They then go to a restaurant, and the southern restaurant isn’t selling fried chicken anymore. Seema then orders KFC for them and they eat it in bed with no plates….. Carrie does the typical Carrie thing and makes Seema’s troubles about her, and says she’s sad that Aidan didn’t ask her to stay over. Seema ate her up when they were eating, by saying, “Is it possible you didn’t make it seem like you wanted to stay?” Bingo!
Later on, they get their truck towed because Seema drove over some spikes. The truck also leaves with Carrie’s luggage. Aidan then invites her to sleep over, and she’s surprised. Diva, why wouldn’t the man you’re dating want to hang out with you all the time? I can’t wait to see what crazy outfit she has to wear with Aidan’s clothes. Or if he takes her shopping.
Charlotte

Charlotte’s storylines have been the funniest to me. She’s stressed out because the younger art gallery workers stay out longer than her and get more sales. So Charlotte and Harry get dressed up and try and keep up with the cool kids. Harry ends up peeing his pants and can’t make it to the after-after-party.
Charlotte makes it to the “after after” party and has another dance montage ala Season 3 Episode 1 when they go to Staten Island. I immediately recognized the venue as Deluxx Fluxx, which is in the basement of Webster Hall. I personally don’t love that venue, and picturing Charlotte there with a bunch of 20-30 somethings is hilarious.
The buyer that she is trying to set up with her coworker thinks Charlotte is into her and kisses her2. She then gets upset and leaves, and realizes that she can’t keep up with the younger members of her gallery and will stick to her normal ways. She ends up selling that painting anyway to a woman she knows, and all is well.
Miranda

Miranda helps Carrie build a cat tree for Carrie’s cat, Shoe. I liked that Carrie referred to Shoe as her only child. Miranda tells Carrie that she asked the lesbian broadcast journalist, Joy, out for broadcast tips to gauge if she’s interested. On the non-date, they have some pretty steamy banter and touching.
Seema

Seema’s storylines have been the most interesting to me this season. Her partner tells her that he has sold his shares and has appointed a new man to become the partner in her real estate firm. She then takes PTO and goes with Carrie to Virginia. Not before flirting with Carrie’s gardener, who they are trying to convince me is attractive, but i’m not buying it. After getting the rental car towed, she realizes that she needs to start her own firm and that it’s okay to start over at 50.
LTW/Anthony

LTW’s outfits have been mind-boggling to me. She helps Anthony with the opening of the Hot Fellas brick and mortar. It was very sweet that Giuseppe put his hot-fellas uniform back on for Anthony. Her editor tells her that she is taking a job with another documentarian (whose name I can’t remember at this moment. Please let me know in the comments.) LTW crashes out and takes her anger out on Henry. Eventually, she gets over it and wishes her the best.
I just realized that this same actress plays Jack Quaid’s mom in The Boys
Not before offering her some coke
I honestly enjoyed this episode more than I’d expected to! It felt closer to the fun of the original series and Charlotte’s storyline (and Kristin Davis) brought back the real Charlotte for a bit which was great. And I loved the reference to S3 E1 dancing Charlotte! So agreed on the unconvincing gardener though…
Great recap 🫶
