My best friend Austin and I ventured to the exotic lands of Boston, Massachusetts to witness pop history aka the Kylie Minogue Concert at TD Garden. You may be asking yourself, “Why didn’t they go to MSG?” well floor seats were cheaper in Boston and we had to be on the floor for this long-awaited moment in our friendship. Below is my full review of the concert. This was without question top 3 concerts I’ve ever seen in my entire life. Enjoy!
P.S. This will 100% be too long for email so I recommend getting the substack app. It’s giving fulllll review mama!

Kylie Concert Review
The Crowd
The entire crowd was gays ranging from 25-55 and their hags. I saw 3.5 Black women there including myself. Austin really wanted me to include that someone was recording on an iPad or a tablet of some kind. Makes sense for the demographic. For the first time at a concert i’ve been to the men’s bathroom lines were longer than the women’s lines!

The merch lines were long but manageable. I actually hate that Kylie changed the font for her signature for this tour. It’s so bland and boring! Bring back the sickening cursive typography! Nonetheless, I did buy a tote bag, a keychain, and a $30 bootleg shirt outside. Yeah, I got scammed. I don’t want to talk about it. Austin and I did meet this random Bushwick gay who also traveled for the concert. Never got his name or any information but I hope you had fun and made it home diva.
Romy - The Opener

The opener was this diva named Romy. A diva I didn’t know anything about but I was thoroughly entertained! Me and Austin even shazammed and saved some songs during her set. The Boston gays must have done their homework because they were up on their feet the entire time during her set. Obviously, she has a bob so I was tuned in. I will be listening to her album now. I did find it interesting that she played slow during her opening set. I personally, don’t like it when openers do that but that is just my stylistic choice. Never going to be that mad about hearing a perfect song played too many times.
Pre Show Playlist
Austin and I were very curious what the pre show playlist was going to be. A good pre show playlist sets the tone for the concert you are going to see that night. I was very happy to hear diamonds by Kylie play. Hilarious that she had her own songs on her pre show playlist. When you have a great discography!!! Hot To GO, Angel of my Dreams (allegedly, I saw this on twitter but didn’t hear it myself), Break my Soul Queens remix, Please (Jessie Ware) and Rain On Me played. I would say all of these set the tone for what we saw at the concert. Specifically Rain on Me. I never noticed how if you take away the context of the lyrics that song is fully a gospel song. Being at this Kylie concert felt like being in a Mega Church in the best way possible so it was perfect foreshadowing.
Kylie the Queen of Dance - Full Set List

Kylie Minogue is the face of the religion that is dancing. There is a reason why Kylie has maintained such a strong fan base and it’s because her entire discography is about dancing and having sex. When your music is about two things that make people happy, its easy to understand why people love you. My favorite thing about the concert was how genuinely happy she seemed to be there.
Early in the concert she told the crowd that she couldn’t hear anything in her ear monitors because the crowd was so loud. She also addressed the 15 year gap in touring in the US. I thought that was funny because she could have just not addressed it. It’s the US’s own fault. We should have been educating the masses on the legacy of Kylie. I should not have only heard about her in college. Thank you for your service Austin, I love you.
In Your Eyes
This song is so good it makes you want to slap someone. I didn’t get get any video of this song because I was too busy getting my life. I wish she played it 6 times like Kendrick did at the LA show. I can’t believe she has such a stacked discography that one of her best songs gets played second in her set. If you haven’t listened to Fever yet what are you doing?
Get Outta My Way/ What Do I Have to Do?
No because what IS the worst thing that could happen to you??? The last tour she came to America for was the Aphrodite Tour. Austin and I watched half of it on the way up to Boston and I couldn’t even get through it. The outfits were so terrible. Dolce and Gabbana why did you do that to my girl??? Either way, this song deserved to go top 10 at least in the US. This is an incredible song. All the gays were on their feet of course.
Now, truthfully, I hadn’t listened to What Do I Have to Do as much as the other songs on the playlist but that is about to change. I LOVE this song!!! I am having a whole 80s moment1 right now so I will be getting more into Kylie’s first albums. This woman really doesn’t have a bad song.
Come into My World
I could have slapped someone in that damn crowd this song is so good!!! At this point in the concert I am fully losing it. She did a little lady gaga moment and sang a slower A cappella version before singing the real version. I kinda lived. I hate when singers do that but it was unexpected for this and I enjoyed it. Kylie was reminding us that she can actually sing mama. It’s not just spins and cute outfits. I called the 3 background singers Little Mix for the entire concerts lmfao. Jade should be opening for her on her next world tour.
Good as Gone
Now, this song has become a new favorite since the concert. I never really clocked the lyrics but “love the way I look, ripped outside your arms” is an incredible lyric. She had a boyfriend that she broke up with a couple of years ago and this was shadddeee. Her background visuals were incredible and very funny.
Spinning Around
Gun to my head Spinning Around is my favorite Kylie song. Spinning Around is euphoria. It is rebirth. It is metamorphosis. “Traded in my sorrow for some joy that I borrowed from back in the day” GOSPEL! I teared up (for the first time) during this song. Her singing this after Good as Gone…the SHADE!!!!! I have waited 8 years to hear this song played live. It was exactly how I dreamed it. I should be hearing this song at every gay club until the end of time. What is wrong with everyone???
On A Night Like This
Loved the background visuals for this song. Loved the Padam Padam red jump suit.
Shocked
This video is hilarious. The visuals in the back of her pretending to be a bird, comedy! I love a woman with a sense of humor. Also Miss Ma’am was rapping!!!!!!!!! Don’t play with Kylie now!! Also at the blow up costumes her dancers were wearing. This part made me feel like I was in the wiggles. Which is fitting because they are also Australian.
Things We Do For Love
I just know if Taylor Swift heard this song she would be pissed she didn’t write it. I realized during this song that the natural charisma Kylie has is something that Taylor would kill for. Even the way that Kylie talked to the audience was more charismatic and genuine than Taylor. I only bring Taylor up because people act like she is the best white performer ever and if you’re not going to say Kylie you have to at least say Gaga or Madonna. It’s not even shade it’s just true.
The Loco-Motion
There would be no Macarena, Cha Cha Slide, or The Wobble without the Loco-Motion. This song always sends me because no one actually knows what the locomotion dance actually is. I tried to watch so many videos and I still don’t understand. My favorite lyric is “my little baby sister can do it with ease” it’s not written by Kylie, but I take this as a Dani Minogue shout out. Fun fact, Kylie has a sister who also makes great music. Admittedly, I haven’t dived too deep into her discography but all the songs I have heard I love.
You would think that Kylie would be tired of singing this song since she has been singing it since the 80s but she looked just as happy to be singing this song as she was singing songs from Tension. When you have such a good discography you don’t have the opportunity to be cynical.
Hold On To Now
This entire section was giving Mega Church. I mean hands raised (mine included), toe touches, lights up, it was amazing. I fully think I caught holy ghost in that arena. Austin said that he heard one of the 3.5 Black women saying that she started crying during Hold On To Now. Kylie doesn’t really get political in her songs. However, I know it wasn’t lost on me that it’s only a matter of time before they outlaw being gay or dancing or anything that brings queer people joy in this country. Her singing “baby where are we going to run to / we’ll figure it out somehow” is a great reminder on being present and only controlling what you can control.
Fan Requests
Austin and I had been going back and forth for DAYS on what song we were going to scream when she asked for requests. The joke was on us because he moved from the A stage to the B stage and was nowhere near us lmfao. However the lovers in the front did NOT disappoint. This woman sang snippets of Chocolate, Fever, and Raining Glitter.
Kylie acknowledging Chocolate for the first time since 2011 at the concert I was at was INSANE. Kylie acknowledging FEVER in the year of our lord 2025 for the first time since 2006 is BEYOND. The lord was in TD Garden that day. The fact that I heard Raining Glitter from Golden after hearing it every day when I worked at Marshalls in 2020 is insane. I am so glad I didn’t go to the MSG shows. Austin and I were meant to be in that crowd. No shade the snippets we got were much better than the New York shows. Sorry not Sorry! We deserved it after traveling 4 hours both ways!
Cecilia x Wild Rose
Kylie gave out roses to fans and stopped in her tracks when she spotted this absolute DIVA Cecilia who replicated the Kylie cover from 1988. Cecilia even got the broaches! Kylie was gagged because she is from Dublin and missed seeing her in 1991 and waited 31 years to see her. Kylie serenaded her with Where the Wild Roses Grow and signed her Cassette tape. Kylie even took out the actual paper of the cassette and signed that instead of the plastic. A woman of the people indeed!!!!
Dancing / Say Something
Then it was time for the acoustic portion of the set. Dancing is the first track on Golden her pseudo country album. It’s a cute song but I was more excited to hear Say Something. I wasn’t thrilled that it was the acoustic version but Kylie really sold it. Say Something means so much to me. She give a little speech about how hard covid was and how much she wanted to be with the people she loved and her fans. She said she wrote this song to connect with her fans and I really believe her. This song just does something to me. Hearing it as a christian campfire kumbaya song wasn’t expected but it really worked. Love IS Love and it NEVER ends!!! Pop music is spiritual and this song is proof of that.
Supernova / Real Groove
As a Disco truther I was waiting all night for this section. I feel sorry for those who weren’t there because this album is so good. Supernova is a career high. I wish she played the entire thing but I understand. Hearing the chorus was enough. Real Groove is underrated. I do wish she played Monday Blues but thats okay. The dancer’s outfits during the section reminded me of the Emerald City sequence in The Wiz.
Where Does The DJ Go? / Wendy Williams Tribute / Mariah Tribute
The thing is, when the party is over….where DOES the DJ go?? Kylie is asking the real questions! During On A Night Like This and Where does the DJ Go she did “ouh ouh!” and I laughed because it reminded me of Wendy Williams. We miss you diva! Get better! Kylie is a real disco woman because what y’all know about a “ouh ouh” ?!
Now I know Last Night a DJ Saved My Life and Funkin for Jamaica aren’t originally Mariah songs but Kylie doing two songs that Mariah remixed on Glitter right after each other seemed suspicious. I just know Kylie loves Glitter. Nonetheless, the Little Mix girls were eating and Austin and I had a good laugh about this transition from the Disco section.
Confide in Me / Slow
My least favorite part of the show and my only note was that I hated this robe she wore for Confide in Me and half of Slow. It was giving witchy vibes and I understood but I just thought it was ugly. I did laugh when she took off the robe to ruveal another robe.
Slow is one of those songs that artists wait their entire lives to write. I wish she did other songs on Body Language like Secret and Red Blooded Woman but there is only so much time.
Timebomb/ Edge of Saturday Night
I didn’t get any footage of Timebomb because I was too busy dancing and I only got this one video of Edge of Saturday Night. However, i’m pissed Edge of Saturday night isn’t a hit because that song is incredible. Even within the gays I never hear that song. The Blessed Madonna finally made a good song and this is what we do??? So sad.
Tension
Another hit that got away. No one could have predicted that Padam Padam would be a mega hit. But Tension really deserved the same treatment. This outfit she was wearing was a little underwhelming because I have seen so many people wear this exact same thing.
Can’t Get You Out Of My Head
Similar to the Loco-Motion Austin and I were curious to see how she felt about performing Can’t Get You Out Of My Head. Arguably her biggest and most recognizable song to date. Surprisingly, she seemed so happy to perform it. Then I understood that if I had a song as good as CGYOOMH I wouldn’t be tired of performing it either. It’s nice when artists don’t trash earlier parts of their career or discography.
Padam Padam
I am happy to say that I was there when Padam Padam first came out. I got it the first time and watched in real time as everyone became obsessed. The outfit she wore for the encore was my favorite of the entire show. You may not be able to tell but the heart lines on her outfit actually spell Kylie. I am going to have to recreate the silhouette of that outfit this summer. I was surprised when she came out in the all red jumpsuit earlier in the concert but I actually love that she didn’t jus recreate the video. What can I say about this song that hasn’t already been said? It’s pop perfection.
Love At First Sight
After Padam Padam Austin and I braced ourselves for the moment that is going to change our lives forever. Austin introduced me to Kylie freshman year of college and Love at First Sight became the soundtrack of every music video night. I truly think that Austin has listened to this song every day since the first time he heard it in high school. This song is perfect. When I get married this will be played at some point during the night.
Kylie has said many times that this is her favorite song of hers to perform. I personally think it is her best song. It’s really hard to put into words how much this song means to me. What it meant for me and Austin’s friendship to see this song live together for the first time. Austin and I didn’t get a single picture together or of our outfits but we went to so many thrift stores in Boston to get something orange for him to wear on his arm to recreate the outfit she wears in the Love at First Sight video. It was very serious.
Conclusion
I would not have changed a single thing about that concert or my entire Boston experience. Except paying $30 for that damn T-Shirt. Kylie Minogue has been under appreciated in America since 2003 after the Fever album. She hadn’t toured in America since 2011. Safe to say that she will never make that mistake again. Kylie Minogue has consistently made incredible pop music and without her we wouldn’t have Carly Rae Jepsen, Hilary Duff, Sabrina Carpenter, and countless other white divas. She is often compared to Madonna and sometimes called the Madonna of Australia. While I understand the comparison and have even called her that myself. Seeing her in person confirms that Kylie is in a lane of her own.
Kylie’s entire objective is to dance and have a good time. Then to go home with someone and have good sex. There is something so impressive and inspiring that she has so many albums of incredible dance music. I saw a tweet recently that said that the only controversial thing Kylie ever did was release Impossible Princess. Which is hilarious because it’s true. If the most controversial thing was releasing arguably your second best album (Fever being #1) you know you are a legend.
Much like Impossible Princess, Kylie Minogue is underrated and ahead of her time. Once dancing is outlawed in the US like that town in Footloose, maybe America will come to appreciate Kylie like the rest of the world. Until then I will savor this experience for the rest of my life. Thank you Kylie for all you have done for pop music, dancing, gay people, and the world.
Don’t even get me started on how much I love Alone by Heart
this set list… yeah it was SERIOUS!
