Charli XCX once said:
Vroom, vroom, vroom, vroom, in a big pink truck
February 10th and I'm gonna pull up
Hey, Staples Center, what the fuck is up?
Yeah, I'm parked outside watching all the girls strut
Got the custom on, hit the worst-dressed list
Yeah, you better not slide, not slip, not trip
'Cause I poured a load of gasoline on the carpet
Lit a cigarette, took a drag, then I just flicked it
Place went boom, boom, boom, boom, clap
And I just laughed when the bodies went splat
Yeah, I knew I'd end up with my hands behind my back
In a police car, blue and red sirens
All flash, flash, flash, flash
lights and cameras everywhere
Now I'm on the news with the DUI stare, who cares?
Just put me on the platform, turn the microphone on
There's no one I wanna thank out there, yeah
That is the second verse from my favorite song on Brat (original) Spring Breakers. Where she describes blowing up the Grammys. If you didn’t know the Grammys are famously held at the Staples Center aka the Crypto.com Arena now. However, it will always be the Staples Center to me.
Either way, since the first moment I heard this song, I have dreamed about her opening the Grammy’s with this song and basically playing out exactly what she sings about. Here’s what I picture:
Charli is backstage. There is a phone ringing sound. She answers it and begins the first verse. As the second verse starts, she walks out, gets in a car, and simulates driving to the middle of the stage. She gets out of the car and pulls out gasoline from the back seat. hen she starts pouring it in a circle and then lights it on fire. Things start falling behind her but just before it becomes too destructive, she puts out the fire with a fire extinguisher and sings the bridge at a podium prop. Which is obviously a lie and the she pulls a hammer from under the podium and begins to start smashing the set.1
That is just a rough draft but I want her to gag us. The Grammy’s have been so boring in the past few years and I am looking forward to Charli’s performance the most. If she doesn’t sing Spring Breakers what was it all for?
Anyway, let’s move on to my Grammy predictions. I am hosting a Grammy’s party on Sunday and can’t wait to see what happens.
I’m just going to give you who I think will win the top 4 categories we all have things to do! Okay I lied, I threw a couple more in there but if you want to see my full predictions let me know in the comments!
