Cécred Review Pt.1
Wait! Let me fix my hair!
Ever since I watched The Little Mermaid for the first time at 4 years old, I wanted long luxurious flowing hair. I would put a towel on my head and pretend to have a silky straight buss down wig. I got my hair permed until I was in 7th grade and after a long round of braids, I decided to stop getting perms and go natural. It’s wild to realize that I have been natural since I was 11 and that my even mom let me do that. Considering she was the one who first permed my hair. I am forever grateful because I HATED getting perms. If you have never had a perm you don’t know how it feels to have your scalp burning. You’ve never had to have to sit there and endure that torture.
All of this to say, I have a very close relationship with my hair so I take really good care of it. My mother kept me in hair salons every 2 weeks throughout high school and my long-time hair stylist still does her hair. One thing that people don’t realize is that hair is a science. I would always be fascinated when my hair stylist Ms. Tora Fox (I always loved her name) would explain to me the science behind the hair follicles and all of the things she learned at the hair shows she went to.
Therefore, when Beyoncé finally announced that her long-rumored hair care brand, Cécred was finally being released I was ecstatic. It is very well known that Beyoncé’s mother was a hairstylist all of her life. As well as a fashion designer. Miss Tina also designed and made most of the early Destiney’s Child outfits because no one wanted to dress 4 Black girls.
It made me so happy to hear Miss Tina explaining the science behind their products and how they tested each product so many times to ensure everything was perfect. If you know anything about Beyoncé you know she is a perfectionist. So this wasn’t surprising. It shows the dedication and love that both Beyoncé and her mother put into this brand. That being said, of course, I was excited to try these products on my hair!!

Cécred Review
I purchased the Clarifying Shampoo and Scalp Scrub and the Hydrating Deep Conditioner.
The reason why this is Pt.1 and not just a final review is because I flopped and didn’t get the leave-in conditioner as well. I feel that to be able to tell if my hair was responding to only Cécred, I need to be using only Cécred products. Therefore, this is part 1 of my research. I will be using Cécred Shampoo and Deep Conditioner. Then moisturize with my current leave-in conditioner (Mielle). Then next week I’ll only use Cécred and will observe the difference!
The process of getting these products from the warehouse to my house was a little nutty. Because I live in New York City, my packages often get stolen from my apartment. I was not risking my Cécred package getting stolen because I would have had to knock on every door in a mile radius. Therefore, I got my package shipped to my good friend Hannah’s house in Harlem (mind you I live in Bed-Stuy) and had her bring it to the movies.1 Funnily enough, after she gave me the package I ended up leaving it at my other friend Maggie’s house overnight because we ended up going out that night and I didn’t stop by my house. Maggie then brought my package to another movie and then I finally took it home and tried it. The lengths I will go to for Beyoncé.
Against my better judgment, I decided to film my experience and make a TikTok. I wouldn’t say I am technologically challenged, but TikTok is definitely out of my wheelhouse of expertise. However, I made it on the off chance someone from Parkwood sees it and wants to send me a PR package. You can see my video and further review below:

In Conclusion, I am very satisfied with the results. The curl definition was incredible and the feeling of my hair was nice. Usually, when I was my hair I use Shampoo, Conditioner, and Deep Conditioner. But I was so excited that I forgot to put any actual conditioner lmfao (I use Aussie). Therefore, I think my hair could have been a little softer if I had done that. Either way, I am super excited to try these products again and to use the Moisture-Sealing Lotion for the real test. I’m sorry this is not a comprehensive review but this way we will know the true power of Cecred.

I wish i got a chance to try this line before i locd my hair!! 😭😭i might still try the shampoo tho bc i love me a good clarifying shampoo. My go to rn is the one by melanin haircare
