And Just Like That Review | S2 EP 2
Once again Carrie being Carrie ends up bad for everyone involved.
Welcome back to my review/recap of Season 2 of And Just Like That! If you haven’t already, go check out my review of the first episode! These episodes come out in pairs so I will try my best to watch and review them at the same time. There was a lot going on in this episode so let’s get into it.
Season 2, Episode 2
Right off the bat it was a mess that Miranda was eating Che out while they were on the phone with their screenwriter. Miranda have some decorum please! I expected Che to get angrier about that than they did.
This entire scene was typical Carrie. Carrie has always been a prude and has always had issues with just saying what the fuck she actual feels. Typical Libra shit1. Her boss Chloe is so funny she takes me out every time she is in a scene. She is about that money and does not have time for Carries antics. Understandably so! That shirt is horrendous though. Sorry girl.
So glad that Miranda is getting the help she needs with her drinking! Now Seema……look, I understand where she is coming from with these red flags because men are terrible. However, I do think that there was a logical explanation to why he was living with his Ex-wife. I don’t fault her for leaving though because it is up to her to decide if she wants to deal with that! Her stylist was also right though because you can’t be picky when dating without getting carried away sometimes. From one picky girl to the next!
LTW and this wig!!!!! Chile, I live. The bangs and the shape are taking me out. Now LTW’s entire family plot line was really them letting y’all into black people’s business. This really showed me that they have some black people in that writer’s room. The fact that their daughter (and not their sons2) had to change her hair to be more presentable for their grandmother is so messed up. I do feel like they tried to get Lynn Witfield and they couldn’t no shade to this lady. It is clear that the grandmother truly believes in the “Respectable Negro” tactic when dealing with white people. That being said she did eat LTW up with the Lion King line because that was hilarious!!!! She did look like an extra of that play akdnkandkja. I am going to need her husband3 to stick up for LTW in front of his mama though.
First of all, I hate the shirt that both of them have on. But mostly LTW’s. Charolotte was doing a lot about Lily selling her clothes. I do understand that she was caught off guard and she paid a lot of money for those clothes. However, I bet Lily couldn’t even wear half of those clothes anymore and that she didn’t even like them in the first place. I also didn’t like that she completely ignored LTW’s issues but that is what white people, but specifically white women, do when they are going through it. So, it’s not surprising.
This entire scene had me dying!!! Lily is so funny for rounding up all the white people she lives in and letting them know she feels out of place. I live! I love her new look too. I made a joke that she must have just watched Glee because the stripes in her hair and the hat were giving Tina. Keep making these white people uncomfortable Lily, I love it! Now, Rock is so fucking annoying. Rock is very much giving just made a Tumblr account in 2012 and now I am a social justice warrior, but they are a kid, so we are going to let them grow up.
Now, I didn’t get any pictures of LTW’s husband hitting that Taxi4, but I completely understood his frustration! That little white girl and his daughter were being annoying, and I honestly had never thought about the fact that Taxis may discriminate against Black men when offering rides. It was so fucked up of his mother to not only act like it wasn’t him but also ignore her own granddaughter calling her name. She literally just wants him to act right in front of white people but even when Black people do “act right”, they are still discriminated against, so the logic doesn’t make sense!
Now, I didn’t get any picture of Miranda’s beach day or Che eating with Tony Danza5 but both things were a mess. The outfit they tried to put Che in was so ugly and that screenwriter needed to BFFR. Now, Miranda and this damn phone. All I know that she better have put all that seaweed and kelp back in them bins when she was done looking! She has always cared about her phone too much, but this was understandably stressful. It’s not bad that she didn’t know Che’s phone number. I don’t know any of my friend’s phone numbers by heart! Also, the woman who invited her to that beach day seemed shady idk. Maybe she stole her phone!
I was not expecting Che to be insecure about their weight and that’s why they were being weird with Miranda. I still don’t know if I buy it. The acting that Che was doing was so bad that I think maybe it was bad because they were lying but idk. I also would have spiraled and thought that Che only wanted Miranda for sex. It seems to me that that’s all they do! Now, vagina on vagina sex does take a while so Miranda probably does have her days full but I feel like my sis needs some hobbies or something.
Okay back to Carrie and this damn Vagina ad. Firstly, I loved the Vagina Monologues6 reference. Anyways Carrie was visibly annoyed that her hot Producer fuck buddy was trying to work on the ad while they were hooking up. But I’m sorry Carrie some people actually need to work to make money! We can’t all have a dead husband who left us millions and bought our apartment building for us! Not to mention that is literally his job. Then she waited so long to do it, she got the entire network cancelled! Chloe, (Miss Wheelchair) was right! If Carrie wasn’t such a prude in the first place and just said the damn ad maybe those people would still have jobs! Once again Carrie being Carrie ended up effecting not just her. Typical. I do have to point out that when she said in response to them possibly making a WAP reference “and I am Carrie B., and I don’t talk like that. Megan Thee End” took me OUT. That was really quick on Carrie’s part, so I do have to give her credit for that.
I have pretty much decided that Carrie is a Libra, Charolotte is a Virgo, Samantha is a Sagittarius, and Miranda is a Capricorn.
