Carrie
Carrie finds Aidan sitting in the garden with Duncan. Aidan hilariously asks, “What’s the deal with the pipe?” I straight up almost choked on my water; that was so funny. At lunch with Carrie, she says that she “couldn’t have drawn a clearer boundary.” Jury, is that true? Am I missing something? I remember her saying she didn’t want Aidan to go down there, but she made it seem like she just didn’t want to bother Duncan.
At lunch with Seema, Carrie says she doesn’t want to bring up Aidan’s old trust issues. Yeah, okay, Carrie, that seems like the right idea. She is such a Libra.
Carrie and Duncan are going over notes, and Aidan is insisting that he make everyone dinner. I get why Carrie is annoyed, but also, Aidan is just being friendly! It’s weird that Carrie doesn’t want them to be friends. It’s not helping her case that she likes him. I understand wanting people to be separate, but Aidan bringing her food is not that big of a deal. It’s actually very sweet. He is a southern man after all. Carrie should have just asked if Duncan was hungry and then let that be that.
When she’s finally done, she comes to cuddle Aidan, and he tells her, “Get the fuck off of me. You smell like smoke. Go take a shower.” Ouch. That was fucking rude. I get he’s upset, but like, jeez man. So Carrie takes a shower and then goes to the second bedroom.
When they awake, they get into an argument because Carrie finally says the quiet part out loud. Aidan is scared that something is going on with the neighbor. Aidan won’t admit it, and they both just end up screaming at each other. She did gag him good with “Why were you on the terrace?” I understand needing some air, but it is suspicious.
Carrie goes on a walk to a shoe store, of course, and Andy Cohen makes a cameo as the same shoe salesman from the original series. That was cute. The shoes she ends up picking are terrible. Matter of fact, this entire outfit is kind of terrible. She meets Aidan for lunch, and he finally admits that he is paranoid that something is going on between her and the doorman.
She calls him out for unknowingly admitting that he is still paranoid. She gets up to leave because she’s had enough of his blaming and punishment for something that happened twenty years ago. She has a point in that she’s been super honest, has dealt with his family stuff, agreed to be long-distance for five years, and hasn’t done anything with Duncan. I see why she’s mad, I’d be mad too. In that moment, she decides to end it.
Back at her apartment, she’s taking off her postcards on her fridge that are held together with fruit stickers???? Recycling, I guess…. Some Taylor Swift song is playing that I don’t know. Thank God. I’m assuming it’s on TTPD. Never listened, still won’t. To the music supervisor’s credit, the song fit perfectly for the situation. Carrie narrates something to the effect of “the woman thought she and her love were in the present, turns out that they were stuck in the past, meaning that they have no future.” That was a bar, Carrie! I know that’s right!
Oof, okay, Jury, how do we feel? Are we sad about Carrie and Aidan? I am, but I also know it was time to end it. They just will never work. Something when it’s over, it’s really over. I’m glad they gave it another try.
Seema
Adam is still trying to get Seema to use natural deodorant. To my surprise, she actually tries the crystal he gave her! Could not be me.
When Carrie is visiting her in her new fabulous office, her new assistant Artold (the gay guy who used to work for Ravi) tells her that she has a meeting with an important client in 40 minutes. Guessing from the brick, her office is either in Chinatown or dumb. Since she’s Seema, and she wouldn’t make Carrie come to Brooklyn, I’m going to assume it’s Chinatown.
She makes it for her meeting, but the client comments that the waiter had some serious B.O. Seema rushes to the bathroom, and it’s locked, so she applies deodorant in front of the door. A Black lady sees her and they have a hilarious interaction. Why did the Black woman just stand there staring at her?? LMFAO. I get it, but also like it’s not that serious. At least she’s putting on deodorant!
LTW
Henry is going crazy because there is food that he wants to eat in the kitchen. He was being ridiculous and needed to chill. His son calling him fat was hilarious!
Hold up- The way until his name was on LTW’s phone screen, I’ve been calling him Henry! That man’s name her Herbert???!!! WHAT?!! LMFAOOOOOO
Herbert (apparently) calling her in the middle of work to complain about a pound would have sent me over the edge.
Miranda
Miranda and Joy are having dinner, and Joy is wondering where her Gin is. Miranda stupidly lies and says she doesn’t know. Thankfully, she comes clean immediately after, and she and Joy have a very sweet heart-to-heart about their emotional baggage. Phew. That could have gone very wrong.
Alright, Jury, one more episode to go! Ugh, this season went by so fast!
I think the Aidan storyline may have gone on for too long, glad it is over but wish there were a few more episodes of single Carrie & friends to look forward to. Hoping for a return to the infamous apartment soon because this big house is doing nothing for me. Loved this as per!
I yelled at the screen when Herbert/Henry had the nerve to bother this woman at work over gaining a pound. He truly acts like his arms and legs are painted on.
