Happy Birthday, Charlotte! | AJLT S3 E7 Recap

Giving Charlotte the flowers she deserves

Another day, another recap. Once again, I watched this on my phone, so the pics are from the AJLT Instagram. Let’s get into it.

Carrie

Carrie lets her neighbor, Duncan, know that his first draft of his Margaret Thatcher book is incredible, and she is scared to let him read her first draft.

Carrie and Miranda are walking back from lunch, and Carrie suggests that she throw Charlotte a big birthday party because she has a lot on her plate right now. Miranda presses her to find out what it is, and Carrie lies and says the dog has incurable dog cancer. Now Carrie….I get why you said that, but that was a mess lol. Miranda is very sweet to be concerned about Charlotte.

Anthony calls Carrie to complain about Giuseppe’s mom. Carrie reveals that she is going to lunch with Gia (Patti LuPone). Anthony is, of course, upset and wants Carrie to put in a good word for him. Gia reveals that she was 21 and Giuseppe’s father was 50 when they got together. Carrie responds with “that’s magical.” Yikes.

Gia reveals that the reason she got into psychology was to figure out her stepchildren. Carrie tries to relate by saying that her boyfriend, Aidan, has children, and it’s complicated. See! Carrie is still calling Aidan her boyfriend, and she’s in her 50s! Stop with all this partner nonsense. Anyway, Gia actually gives her some good advice about not stressing about step-children.

Carrie invites Duncan to Charlotte’s birthday party after he tells her that her first draft is brilliant. They go on her balcony to have a smoke. But I noticed that Carrie doesn’t smoke and drinks his drink instead. I guess she gave up smoking again for Aidan.

Miranda tells Carrie she caught her and Duncan catching a vibe. Carrie gets upset because she’s defensive about her relationship with Aidan. Carrie was justified in getting upset, but I also think that Miranda was valid in saying something. If it didn’t strike a nerve, then she wouldn’t have gotten upset, just saying!

Charlotte

Lily screams in horror, finding out that Diego broke up with her. Charlotte discusses this at lunch with the girls.

All three of them look amazing. Anthony reveals that Giuseppe’s mother is coming to visit. Come to find out his mother is played by Patti LuPone. Her accent………Anyways! As awful as Patti LuPone is, she is giving me life with her insults to Anthony. He may have met his match. “It must be heavy for a man of your size,” I screamed.

Charlotte runs into Harry shopping for a gift for Lily. Then a woman shows up, and he starts acting weird. I knew that Harry wouldn’t cheat on Charlotte, but the thought stressed me out. Harry reveals that the woman, Bonnie, is his personal shopper. Bonnie lets it slip that Harry told her that he has cancer. Charlotte is rightfully upset.

Charlotte looks gorgeous in this pink dress for her birthday. Miranda was taking me out, making her take pictures with her dog.

One thing LTW is going to do is rock a bob.

LTW looks fantastic. Her soon singing I had a dream, SENT ME. I love that LTW has a gay son. Carrie’s hair was a choice. Miranda trying to get everyone to sing was so funny. They can never say that Miranda is stuck up.

The karaoke situation was sending me. Bitzy Bon muffling singing Shallow with Giuseppe was hilarious. Because of Miranda freaking Harry out. Harry tells Carrie’s friends that he has prostate cancer and frees Charlotte from the shackles of the secret. Fucking finally.

Miranda

Miranda invites Joy to Charlotte’s birthday party. Miranda comes up to Harry and says, “When the unthinkable happens, of course, Charlotte will be devastated by the loss, we’ll be there for her.” THAT.TOOK.ME.OUT. I had to pause it to keep laughing. Harry’s face was incredible. I love this show so much.

Miranda shows up at Carrie’s house with pink balloons and a Karaoke machine. Carrie is annoyed, but I found it very sweet. Side note: I find Brady so cute. I’ve always had a thing for gingers so this tracks.

Seema

Seema goes to a new lash spot, “Lattes and Lashes,” and is fascinated by the lash tech played by Tomas Matos.

I love them in Fantasmas, and I was delighted to see them in this universe. Seema is concerned by their nails and gum popping.

Seema comes to Carrie’s house after one of her eyelashes starts to mold. There Carrie invites Seema and her gardener, Adam (I think that’s his name). Carrie notices the obvious flirting, and Seema tries to talk herself out of the attraction.

The gardener reveals to Seema that he broke up with his yogi girlfriend. I’m sure she never existed. Just as Seema was about to Irish goodbye, he started singing Betty Davis Eyes. This song has been everywhere lately. What is up with that? His singing gave me the ick, but it worked on Seema, so that’s all that matters. I hate that I don’t think he’s that cute. I really think it’s the beard and his outfits. That being said I am so glad they finally kissed, I couldn’t take another episode of their obvious flirting.
